Connect VS Code to OClever
Install the OClever MCP server in VS Code with one click, or add it to mcp.json for GitHub Copilot agent mode.
One-click install
VS Code opens the server's install page. Select Install. The first time a tool runs, VS Code asks you to sign in to OClever in your browser.
Add it to mcp.json
Run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette, or edit .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace (or your user mcp.json via MCP: Open User Configuration).
.vscode/mcp.json{
"servers": {
"oclever": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://mcp.oclever.com/mcp"
}
}
}VS Code can prompt for the token once and store it securely, so it never sits in the file:
.vscode/mcp.json{
"inputs": [
{
"type": "promptString",
"id": "oclever-token",
"description": "OClever access token",
"password": true
}
],
"servers": {
"oclever": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://mcp.oclever.com/mcp",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer ${input:oclever-token}"
}
}
}
}code --add-mcp '{"name":"oclever","type":"http","url":"https://mcp.oclever.com/mcp"}'Using it
Open Copilot Chat, switch to Agent mode and select the tools icon to check that the OClever tools are enabled. You can also type # and a tool name, such as #get_visibility_overview, to point the agent at a specific tool.
Check it works
Ask: “Use OClever to tell me which workspaces you can see and our visibility for the last 4 weeks.” The assistant should call whoami or list_workspaces, then get_visibility_overview. If it does not, see Troubleshooting.
